First Edition of INCinema – Inclusive Film Festival Ends in Trieste

Record-breaking debut with over 3,000 in-person attendees and 10,500 online viewers.

INCinema – Inclusive Film Festival, conceived by Federico Spoletti and directed by Angela Prudenzi, organised by Sub-ti and Sub-Ti Access, has successfully concluded its first edition. Spanning 11 days across 8 cities (Florence, Lecce, Rome, Udine, Turin, Milan, Bologna, Trieste), the festival attracted over 3,000 in-person attendees.

It provided an inclusive cinema experience to those who typically cannot attend due to accessibility issues, screening 10 films in 24 sessions and offering 15 films on MYmovies One platform with over 10,500 views. Additionally, three roundtables in Udine, Turin, and Bologna, along with the project’s presentation in Trieste before an international audience, enriched the dialogue on inclusive cinema with the participation of industry experts, users, directors, actors, producers, and distributors.

INCinema stands as the first festival in Italy accessible to individuals with sensory disabilities, who often cannot participate in film festivals. The mission of INCinema is to allow everyone to share in the festival experience and enjoy the emotion and magic of cinema inclusively. Alongside accessible films, the festival’s ancillary activities – roundtables, meetings with authors, and Q&As with directors – featured real-time transcription to ensure accessibility for audiences with hearing impairments.
