INCinema – An Inclusive Film Festival

The first Italian film festival entirely accessible to the sensory impaired was launched on 30^th June 2023 in Florence, as an initiative of SUB-TI ACCESS and MYmovies, in collaboration with FONDAZIONE SISTEMA TOSCANA and FRED Film Radio.

INCinema Film Festival will be the first film festival in Italy totally accessible. All the films in the programme will be presented with subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing and audio description for the blind and visually impaired.

All other activities typical of festivals – i.e. masterclasses, meetings with authors and Q&As with actors and directors – will have real-time transcription, so as to be accessible also to audiences with hearing disabilities.

The aim of INCinema is to allow everyone to enjoy the unique experience of participating in a film festival, and at the same time to contribute to the promotion of a culture of accessibility and inclusion.

INCinema Film Festival will take place both in presence and remotely on a VOD platform.   Screenings will be held in a number of cinemas – the opening is planned for October in Florence and various screenings will be held in different Italian cities – but all scheduled films will also be available online on MYmovies, in order to reach as many viewers as possible.
